The Scarlett 2i2 4th gen offers 'Air' mode for extra brightness, a wider gain range and Focusrite's ecosystem/support. If you care about conversion fidelity and visual monitoring, the M2; if you want gain flexibility and Air mode, the Scarlett 2i2.
